The Plough on the Moor focuses on sustainability

The UK has committed to net zero carbon emissions by 2050, and we want to help here at The Plough on the Moor. The plan? Taking a step back, assessing our carbon footprint, and choosing a strategy that will limit the impact on our planet. We’re proud of everything done so far, but there’s still work to be done!

Our parent company Mitchell’s & Butlers are making small, daily changes and ongoing directives that we hope will have a long-lasting impact. We’re setting our sights on:

o By 2040, achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions (Scopes 1, 2 and 3)

o Zero waste to landfill by 2030

o Reducing food waste by 50% with 2030 as the target

o We work with FareShare and redistribute surplus food to communities in need

o The electricity powering your favourite pub is 100% renewable

o A huge 96% of our operational waste is diverted from landfill

o Those of us at The Plough on the Moor are founding members of the Zero Carbon Forum, and our goal is to reduce our emissions and create a Roadmap to Net Zero
